Quick question (need fast answer

I have this amp

And this sub

I have them wired like so



I want the final load to be 2 ohms, that is wired right correct?

I get power to the amp.. RCA is hooked up, speaker wire is hooked up, + the 12v, remote, gnd.

But no sound coming out of the sub.. What's the problem? Is that not wired correctly?




On a side note, where is the best place to hook up the remote? I couldn't find a remote wire behind the carpet, I thought I had it, but I just hooked it up temporarily to the orange (12v constant) to see if the amp was getting power, and it was. So my question is, what color wire back there is the accessory turn-on? I think it was yellow up by the HU, but I don't see yellow back there. The other one I thought, was brown, and that is what I had it hooked up to and it didn't work.

For the remote, I think mine was blue.

Ok, each of your coils are 4 ohms, so wire it like this:



The final load will be 2 ohms. It is easiest to run a wire it like in the pic, using 2 short wires to connect the two coils in parallel.

I thought brown was the acc.? I think that's what I had it hooked up to.

I'll try blue I guess.

I think blue is the extended acc line, on mine it stays on 10 min after the key is out, but turns off the second the door is opened.

It's a great effect, people hear *thump* *thump* *thump* then the door opens and it instantly stops.

It's weird you didn't get any sound before, even wired in series like that should make noise. Hope you get it banging tonight.

I wired it the way you told me, still no sound... it's weird, it's not in protect mode, and the power is on.. wtf?

You've got no input. Check the input connection, maybe the head unit has the pre-amp output turned off. If you are using RCA cables for input, pull them off the head unit and touch your finger between the center pin and shield. If you get static/thump sounds from the subs, then everything on the sub side is wired right.

Ok... I just touched the ends of the RCA cables, and nothing.

So just in case I screwed into one, ripped one, etc, I took another rca cable I had, plugged it directly into the amp.. nothing.. wtf.

If you have a camera, take a pic of every place you have a wire attached to and post them here. You can upload any sized pic to tinypic.com and then link them here (easier for me, my cam takes high res pics)

Check the fuse on the amp if it has one.

If the fuse were blown, wouldn't the amp just not turn on at all?

You would hope so, but it's worth a check, it should have a car style fuse on the side.

Well there are 3, then the main power 100A fuse which I heard is crap.. brb.

Ok, I just got a little bit of sound from the RCA.. and I mean little. I touched the RCA and it was really quiet. The remote volume control was on max, and input level was up. This is so annoying i've never had so much trouble hooking up amp/subs.
