glad it worked out for you man, i'm a fan of charcoal carpet especially in a trunk like that, because it makes the box look like it belongs. Or you could sand the top of your box to a real nice smooth finish and throw some paint on her. Just get some duplicolor primer, paint and clear, and paint it up to match your car.

thanks for the feedback guys. now i definately plan to get it carpeted, eventually.. now that it looks decent and functions perfectly i probably won't get around to carpeting it for a while. i need to get some sound deadening for my trunk though, it sounds like i've got a body back there or something when i crank it haha

id suggest carpeting the box if youre not up to the task of making it nice and straight. gloss black will show every imperfection you leave in the glass. being a body tech by trade and having built glass boat hulls for a 2 year living ive got a little bit of an idea what it would or could look like.

to be honest with you id move those subs up higher, they will make a lot more sound being closer to the decklid (trunk lid). do a trial by putting some blocks or something underneath them to raise them up... ill bet theres a difference.

actually one of the reasons i painted it gloss black was to gauge my progress with the bondo. after painting it i realized it wasn't "that bad" so i got a little ahead of myself and finished it off. so i'm pretty much done with it for now, i'll carpet it within the next few weeks, i'm not up for painting it the right way haha

carpeting it is the way to go for sure :tup: It'll give your trunk a semi seemless look
