find the rattle. start pushing on taillights, hatch, license plate, and (they really shouldnt) quarters. if the rattle dosent stop when you push one of those move to the inside trim panels. its more than likely the tag, the hatch or the lights.
find a way to secure the culprit down tighter.

don't buy dynamat, there is this stuff on ebay called brown bread, or b quiet, either one is just as good if not better than dynamat and a quarter of the price, i bought a hundred square feet of that stuff for 125 bucks shipped, it was enough to do two cavaliers, and each cavalier trunk twice. Our cars don't rattle bad at all compared to my cavalier.

If you are determined to be cheap then get some spray foam from home depot and go nuts :P (j/k)

I have seen some nice things done with open cell foam. People make small gaskets with them and put them in rattle zones; around the tail lights, the latch, one guy wrapped his jack/spare mounts with foam because he wouldn't drive without them.

(Open celled foam is the squishy stuff used to package things for shipment, not the hard stuff)
