Flip Out Head Unit question

Don know if it needs to go here or electronics, but if this isnt right the mods can move it......

I am looking at a flip out monitor for my camaro. I know if i just mount it normaly the monitor will prolly hit the upper vent area before it fully tilts back. so my question is to the ones with a flip out can yall recommend a installation pack that sets it out enough to allow for the sceen to function properly. Thanks in advance, forrest

I don't think anyone has had any problems with it hitting th vent area. I don't have one, but I haven't heard/read of anyone having that problem. At least, they haven't posted it if they did :P

I had a Phase Linear 7" monitor. I think it just hit the vents right before it fully extended up. All I did was tilt it slightly down, and it was still at a good viewing angle. If you need to, I'm sure you can pick up a rectangular spacer to extend the head unit out about 1/2". This should solve any problems you may have.

i got a sony dvd head unit and ive had no probs at all with it hitting

I have a 7'' flip out in my 2002 and it touches the vents just barely but I like it that way cause it's a touch screen and flops a bit if it's not against the vents.

I believe ANY flip-out LCD style headunit made in the last 30 years has adjustments for tilt angle....

yep, if your head unit doesnt have an adjusting tilt for the screen, you have bigger problems then making contact with the vents... every flip out unit i've come across has had either a manual or motorized way to adjust the screen
