so this might sound stupid but im rly curious about this..... would it be possible to drill 2 holes in this on each side and possibly make it into a ported box??? the reason i have even thought of this is because i like the sound quality better than the enlosed boxes and this box fits perfectly behind the rear seats in my bird. but would this take away from the loudness or is this even possible? please help!
The only way it's going to work is if your box is already significantly bigger than the required volume for a sealed box, otherwise, look into building a new one. I just built a new one and it is well worth it, but my box takes up the entire trunk so it's a little different
No way in hell with that box. Not a 95% chance. 100%. If there were only one hole cut for a single 12" and no divider, we could talk.... but no way in hell as is.
well last night i got kinda bored and kinda was like wtf why not....so i cut out 2, 3' holes on each side on the bottom exact measurements all around...and i got to say it DID make a big difference, sounds alot better and alot deeper than how it was before.
questions... has it lost any volume (loudness), and are your speakers going to last due to the increased gain you more than likely added to compensate for the lack of airspace?
