What size is the UT6 deck of a Firebird? I want to install a double din navigation/DVD deck. The OEM deck seems larger than a single DIN and crutchfield shows that mods need to be done. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have seen MANY custom headunit installations. Double din units, touch LCD screens for CarPCs, fish tank, etc...... Anything is possible. Just depends on where your skills/pocket book limit you.Comment

Yeah, there are numerous possibilities for a head unit in our cars. Most just take a bit of thought and some skill to make possible. For a double din, a bit of trimming to the bezel should open it up enough for a Double din. RT1 had one in his 93(maybe 94, idk), but has no pics because it was stolen. Google it, or check out www.mp3car.com and search for Camaro or Firebird. Last I checked, they had a ~20 page thread showing people's different installs in their F-Bodies.~97 3.8L V6 Camaro~

Cool thx. I don't get the car till tomorrow, I am just planning right now and didn't know what my limitations were. A bit of Bezel trimming is no big deal. I kow that for my now defunct Camaro it would have been much more work.Comment
