  • sub spots?

so i have been playing around positioning my sub box looking for the best sound quality, the best place i found is downwards in the area for the t tops in the hatch. there is a 6inch gap between the sub face and the bottom. anyone else have any luck. lol i got pictures to shake on a neighbors wall while i was coming down the street.. i want my system to be much louder anyone have luck in any other positions?

That's exactly where I have mine. Pounds like hell, doesn't it? That's the loudest position I've found.

it is a very nice spot for your subs! I have two 12" Pyles powered by a 1000 watt Sony Xplod Amp.
Go for a box with a lot of air space. Even though these subs are Target/WalMart subs they hit and sound real nice.
        They LOVE the higher notes.

Yes, but it they where flipped 180 degrees firing into the well, the would hit even harder. That's what I and eternal are talking about. I don't know about the box in a box thing, but Dynamat would probably help in the well. I get a hell of a lot of vibration firing them down.

That's where I mounted mine. Only downside is the plastic piece in the back (between the headlights) vibrates/rattles like hell.

maybe that piece is loose then? mine doesnt seem to do that and it rattles everything else.

I never liked downfiring into the well that much. Seems like it makes everything rattle. Even the muffler rattles under the car. With an upfire well box, most of the rattling is sealed off behind the box.

                        Not anymore.:(

But IS entirely possible. Several people have done it using only MDF, but I'd use fiberglass for the rear portion and MDF for the mounting baffle in hopes of gaining an extra .2cuft.
