Hey guys, check out my new subs.

It includes two 10 inch 900W Alpine type S subs and an Alpine 1500W amp

Sorry for the dirty car though, the weather here has been rainy and terrible.

Needless to say I'm a PC and home theater freak who loves alot of bass. Car audio seems to be the new trend, since I never had a car before this one worth installing speakers in.

What do you guys think of the box? My T-Tops fit very nicely in the stock holders also. Any suggestions? The amp does not get hot in there, it has some breathing room above it and is hard to see by the pictures. I would like some honest suggestions, no your car sucks please.

Well.... my only REAL problem is that I hope the first 18-year old trying to prove his penis size doesn't smash your back window and take off with your new gear...

    Here's an idea for you

execept im pretty sure he said he had t-tops... thats the reason i don't have one of those... as for his setup... look like it would sound nice... but i would be really paranoid about having it stolen, it sticks up alot (also taking away from looks IMO)

            Re: My new system

Whenever i'm parked, I throw that board that folds back to keep things from hitting the t tops on top of the subs and it looks like nothing is there at all.

I plan on getting dark tint soon also.

From the back hatch perspective it does look like it sticks out, but it is right about even with the top of the back seats.

I have seen that t tops storage box before, and it does not utilize the stock lock in mechanism for the t-tops, and they can clang against each other, also causing a nasty rattle if you have your music up loud. Plus, you can see the subs just as easy as my box, if someone really wanted to smash my window.

You speaking from personal experience? Or did you have a friend with this box? I have heard the t-tops may not use the factory holders, but are very secure. Also the site clearly says "Tops don't rattle or slide around. They are perfectly safe when stored as shown.." ALSO, if the t-tops are not being stored, you can use that factory cover in the intended location to cover the subs from thieves.

My friends fire bird has that box... and when the bass hits hard they rattle and cause nasty noises.

As for being stolen all I can do is throw that peice overtop of the subs or a blanket of some sort.

                  Re: My new system

Well I am a fan of systems that looks good, sound good, and are HIDDEN. I think its kinda ricey to have a huge a$$ box. The boxes that fit where the t-tops go look alot better.

these would look better imo... but congrats on the new system

                    Re: My new system

They do look better, but again the rattle from the t-tops not being locked in is nasty.

I have never installed a car audio system before this nor built a box but thanks for the input.

I guess next time I will try to make it a bit smaller. Do you think I should change the shape of the box? It looks really good from the drivers and back seat point of view because it is flush with the top of the back seat. Not so much with the trunk open I guess.

No, it has not felt anything other then slightly warm after a long drive. If it overheats or dies on me i'll let you guys know.

Doesnt look bad but I cant believe you dont have overheating problems with your amp.

I really dont think thats a good mounting location for it.

It's winter now, wait till this summer when you are jamming out and your amp goes into protect every 3 seconds.
