Wanting some new speakers

Not looking to break the bank or have the loudest sound system, but I was wanting to replace the stock speakers in my 2000 Firebird. Can anyone reccomend some decently priced replacement speakers? Not wanting to spend too much because I have engine mods coming and need the cash for that.

The stock speakers have the best low end of any speakers i've heard on the market. Best bet is to add some high end tweeters.

Also, what is your budget, which speakers are you planning on replacing, and did your bird come with the monsoon system?

I got all around polks for about 400 and they are pretty good. Im probably going to get better ones soon but thats because I need the best. 6 1/2 components up front 6 1/2 coaxials in the middle and 5x7 in the rear.

Mainly listen to classic rock (AC/DC, Gun N Roses, Led Zeppelin, etc.) as for budget I was thinking $300-400.

did your bird have monsoon? Are you looking to replace 2, 4 or 6 (monsoon) speakers?

I don't know if they have monsoon speakers or not, how do I tell? Sound systems are one of the very few things I don't know about when it comes to cars. I'm thinking I'd replace the pillar speakers and the rear ones.

Monsoon will have 6 speakers in the firebird. 2 on the doors, 2 6.5" subwoofers in the sides of the backseat, and 2 in the trunk. In the passenger side rear wheelwell there'll be an amplifier.

Are you sure you want to do that? If you add in an aftermarket sub you'll endup with alot of crosstalk and it'll sound somewhat worse than you could. If you're going to do an aftermarket sub, with those components, drop the 5x7's and you'll get a better sound.

i have a crap sub in there now and it sounds amazing even with the 5x7s back there so i wont be too worried, plus with my new design im going to have the rear speakers facing forward or something. would that help or no?

but like i said, it sounds awesome right now anyway so im not too worried.

Ok then, I do have the Monsoon system. So what speakers can you guys reccomend as upgrades?

i have all of that but no amplifier that i can fined, i looked everywhere that the amp should be and the car already has an aftermarket head unit. so is it a monsoon or not? i ask because i wonted to change my speakers out to.
