I'm sure this has been asked millions of times and I'm just beating a dead horse but I have a couple of questions.

I have a '02 V6 with the Monsoon Single disc sound system. I was thinking about buying a 12 disc CD changer since I have the harness in the back of the car already. I would also like to be able to use my Ipod. I don't really want to use an FM transmitter but I will if I need to. I know there are kits out there that allow you to hardwire the Ipod but will I have to give up the CD changer? Anyway I can use both?

    Thanks for the help.

I have one of those adapter at home, I will check it out tonight. I did not think you lost the cd-player but you need it to hook up external audio source. It will let you input any audio source into you're head unit. I replaced my head unit before every installing it.

I had an Alpine in the truck that I used to have. I had an entire sound system in it. I don't want to go through the whole sound system stuff again with the Camaro. I'm just not gonna mess with the sound, its fantastic to me as it is. Just wondering about the iPod.

      Thanks.

I looked at the directions today. It is a PAC AAI-GM9. ZSays Turn radio on and select TAPE orCD changer source. With the switch in the middle position you should hear the Tape or CD. When you flip the swithc left or right you will here Aux1 or Aux2 on the device. So you do not lose you're CD changer.

If you want it let me know. I'll sell it to you for $25 shipped. I spent about $50 on it. Never been used brand new in the box.

              Re: Ipod Hardwire

If you find out the harness doesn't end up working for some odd reason, (just in case), you can swap out the factory Monsoon headunit for any aftermarket one without any special modications to the rest of the Monsoon system. So you simply buy a headunit with a direct-link iPod connection and you're good to go. Not to mention you'll have a boat load more sound shaping options and real RCA connections. A CD changer would obviously be a snap then...

Of course..... why the hell would you need a CD changer if you have an iPod???

I have a 01' W68 with the Monsoon system. Here is the setup I use with my iPhone.

                For playing music:
PA11-GM45 works like a champ. Charges my phone, allows me to keep steering wheel controls (volume, track switching, mute) and also plays my ringtones when a call comes in. The unit also has a AUX connection so my friends can hook up their mp3 players with the headphone jack.

I also use a dock built by Pro-Clips

these work great for me, hope my input helps.
