Sub shut off switch

Im still building my new system and was wondering if its possible to run a switch(like the fog light switch) that controls the amp to my sub, IDK about u guys but in cali cops are always giving out music tickets.

Sure why not just hook a switch up to the remote wire. Some amps have volume knobs you can connect up to them is another option.

how would i run it thO, from the switch to the remote wire behind my HU. .. .. Im running 2 amps, wouldnt that turn off both of them.

Just make sure the switch is between the HU and the amp you wanna shut off, but make sure the wire from the HU to the amp that you don't wanna shut off is uninterfered.

I can see diong this a few ways. You could put a switch right after remote wire on the head unit. Just run two wires back to the Amps. One with a switch one without. Second option wire a wire from the back where the Amps are and put a switch right before the amp you want to turn off.

Works like a charm. I did this for my 4-channel back in the day. Switch it off during SPL comps.

Go to any electronic store. They will have many different types of switches. Will only cost a few dollars. Just hook two wires to the remote wire. One wire goes direct to first Amp. Second wire goes to switch, then a wire leads from switch to second amp. Really simple.
