      yeah ill post some pictures tomorrow.

      but as far as more detail as how i connected it
      i just crimped the matching colors together from the back of the wiring harness to the wires coming out of the head unit. then the wiring harness to the car's wires

        Do you have power? Check the fuses.

          Exactly. If you have a multimeter, check for +12V on the yellow wire ON THE HEADUNIT HARNESS. Then turn the key to ignition and test for +12V on the red wire. Use the black wire to ground the multimeter during testing. If you have power on both leads and the unit still does not power on, the player is dead. Simple as that.

              What HU did you buy?

              I know for a fact that when I installed mine, the same colored wires from the wiring harness to the stock wires didn't do the same thing.
              Make sure you have a wire guide for your Head Unit, and then for the stock wires.

                    Then you got a harness that was tampered with or one for another vehicle and just happen to fit. Every headunit wiring harness made by any manufacturer uses JEITA specifications. The wiring colors are universal for any brand player since before the mesozoic era. I can buy a scosche harness from Wal-Mart for a 96 Honda Accord, and a Metra harness from Circuit City for a 01 Pontaic Firebird and they will have the same color wires meaning the same thing. Just in different positions. Same goes for the radio side harnesses. Pioneer, Sony, Alpine, JVC, etc etc etc. All the same colors do the same things.

                    Yellow= Batt
                    Red= Ignition
                    Black=Ground
                    Blue=Antenna
                    Blue/White=Remote turn on
                    White=LF+
                    White/Black=LF-
                    Gray=RF+
                    Gray/Black=RF-
                    Green=LR+
                    Green/Balck=LR-
                    Purple=RR+
                    Purple=RR-
                    Orange=Dimmer

                    Some higher end units probably have some other options such as Mute = Yellow/Black or maybe parking brake = light green. Hell, even reverse signal wire is universal = Purple/White and Vehicle Speed Signal wire = Pink.

                    Learn and memorize them guys. They don't change.
