  • how should i wire up these 6x9's?

im not relly into loud music or snything but i deciced to put a cheep pair of 6x9's in the rear hatch bacause they look kind of cool. i was just going to run wiers from the back seat speakers to those ones, but is there a better way to do it? maby running wiers from the front and back speakers? i dont know and im shure you guys do.

6x9's wont fit the rear. i custom fit 5x7's to fit but the actual size is like a stupid 4 inch plate or something dumb like that.

but you need 5x7s if your going to custom fit them, and it requires a lot of cutting of the plastic and speaker

the far hatch speakers are pretty useless and bad for sound staging, i'd just leave them out.

Most people say that but Im one of the few that actually did it and i like the outcome, but its up to you, and it might not make a difference but i like it.

not the rear, the verry back, in the trunk on the plastic part that covers the spare tire on one side. i put them in all gangster style upside down lol they wouldnt fit right side up on the driver side, im not looking for a real good sound i just think they look cool and i want them to sound ok.

The rear hatch is what i was talking about. i got 5x7's and put them back there and they barely fit under the cover but it worked. i dont know how you got 6x9s in there. pics?

haha, thats pretty cool, i didnt even think of that. the flexing from the speaker doesnt hit the plastic at all when the music is playing?

It wont, There's holes in the bottom bacause I was going to do it the normal way. It's not hooked up to anything yet bacause I'm not shure what the best way to hook it up would be.

I've seen 6x9's installed under the hatch several times. No idea how it was done. Never really was interested in doing it myself I guess...

It fits the normal way on the passinger side whare the spare tire is, but on the driver side it hits the metal behind it, a hole would have to be cut if you wanted it right side down. I was just gonna run wires from the rear speakers to these ones, is there a better way to do it?

they probably werent 6x9's if they had the cover over it because i bought 6x9s and went to go fit them in and they were wayyy too big to fit under the stock grill. i fit the 5x7s with a little bit of clipping and such into the stock location and they have clearence under them too.

many people say they dont like them but i have run just the back 2 speakers by themselves and it sounds awesome, so when i add them all together it sounds perfect.

They used the included aftermarket grill.

Surely there are pics somewhere on this board....

From what I've heard, most of the aftermarket grills hit the hatch when closed. They all have to make them stick out 2-3 inches, instead of a somewhat flat design :(
