My car is wired with an old pioneer amp and a 10" jl sub in a stealth box, this all came with the car when I bought it, but there is a small tear in the sub, so I was thinking about replacing it, maybe go up from my 100w setup to like a 300w, would I need to rewire it or could I use the wires that are already in place? The amp only powers the sub, not the speakers.

Re: New Amp and Sub
Surely you can use the existing wires inside the stealth box. However, replacing the sub with one capable of handling more power will not, in itself, yield more output. The amp will still output the same power, provided the new sub is the same impedance as the old one. On that note, you would want to know some info about the old sub and the amp. Is the sub dual or single voice coil? 2 ohm? 4 ohm? Is the amp a 2-ohm stable monoblock? Or a 4-ohm stable bridged two-channel?
If you can find the exact model numbers of both, (should be on the amp and on the back of the sub) we could help you make the correct decision.
