Kicker System

What do you guys think about a full kicker system for my 96 four new speakers an amp and 2 12" subs?

Kickers are a decent brand. For the price, I'd go with them or Alpines. They're high/mid-range quality with a mid-range price.

Seen it. Done it. Heard it. MANY MANY times. Everyone's ears are different, but :tdown: on their speakers. Amps and subs are fine, but every other speaker they make is ear piercing with no midbass IMO. Unless you're sponsored, there's no reason to use only one brand name throughout your car. Nobody is king in every category.

Seriously though, I haven't heard their speakers but a lot of people tend not to like them from reviews I've read. I have 2 10" L7's powered by a zx1500.1 and it slams when I need it to. I have them in 2 Subthump boxes and it hit 138.8db when I had it metered.

I have Polk DB675's for speakers powered by a zx350.4 and I couldn't be happier. I've abused these speakers for nearly three years now and they still sound amazing.

I personally think you should stick with Polk for speakers and do the rest Kicker.

hahaha Oh you mean the worst brand ever? I hate dual. They get far more praise than they deserve. I guess because Best Buy sells that junk. Their headunits are pieces of crap. Hell, everything they even look at sucks. Circuit City sells some junk too (Phase Linear (by Jenson)), but we're all well aware that it's junk. Nobody really buys it.

I had a set of 12" DUALs for my first "system". Hooked them to a 1000W Xplod amp, and thought I was bad *** (especially since they lighted up blue :)). Then got my car and my 1 JL Audio 10" in a wedge box powered by a 250W Clarion amp blew those DUALs out of the water. And it wasn't one of JL's top-quality subs either, it was a cheap "PowerWedge" package they offered.

@ dual, I use to love when I was working at best buy, you'd get these wiggers driving cutlass' and other POS cars, would come in with their dual or jensen fold out in dash screen's acting all gangster cuz they have a tv now HAHAHA

Type R subs are awsome....the thing is you need a crazy amp to power them...
