Re: i just have too many questions lol
i've decided instead of a full delete, and spending a buttload of money on new stuff, i'd try to repair my bose door amps, and just hook all the bose stuff back up, as crazy as most people would think that is...I always thought the amps and such were great, just needed better speakers
would u happen to know a way to fix the row of pins on the circuit board that the pigtails plugs into inside the amp box? seems that row of pins had gotten loose, and was causin noise, and cutting in/out...i tried resoldering, but back then i had no clue wat i was doin and shortened a couple pins. anyway to fix it, or will i need to try to find another pass. door amp?Last edited by 95astrovan; 04-20-2008, 12:20 PM.

Personally, I don't think it's really worth fixing. I've seen the bose door speakers go for 20-40 dollars for a set, so if you post in the wanted section, you should be able to get a new speaker/amp for very cheap. The only thing you can do is try and solder them again. If the pin is too short, you could find something of similar shape and diameter, such as the lead of an LED, and solder it on, but there is a great chance you'll mess something up because those boards were never meant to be fixed.
I'm with you though, I'm actually pretty impressed with the sound that comes out of the door speakers. With some decent sail speakers that get good midbass, and some more low end from some sort of sub, the weakness of the bose door speakers can be overcome and equalized out. They do a great job with vocal clarity and accuracy. As a system though, the Bose system was pretty weak from the factory.

Re: i just have too many questions lol
thanx man...i'll deff. be posting over in Wanted, i know i've seen alot of in-box NOS Fbody Bose parts go for 10-30 bucks on ebay...
one more quick ?, and i should have what i need...am i right in gathering from another post of ur's that the low pass xover circuitry for the rear amp signal was in the Stock HU, meaning i'd need a low pass filter somewhere in that signal chain, since i run an aftermarket HU?
once again, appreciate all the various help on this Bose stuff...
