i have a non bose system in my car now, but the only thing that remains stock are the sail panel speakers. I have a pioneer head unit, with Focal component sets in the front doors, powered by a pioneer 4 channel bridged for 150 watts @ 4 ohms per component set. (if specific model #'s are needed just let me know and ill get them when i get home from school)
before i had the speakers in the front doors, i could get undistorted sound out of the sail panel speakers. but now that i have the components, if i try putting any sound through the sail panels, they immediately distort. i just faded the sound stage to the front, but after awhile im really starting to notice that hole in the sound behind me. im about to just unbridge the 4 channel, and put 60 watts to the components along with the sail panels. id rather just have the Focals getting as much power as they can handle.... i cant imagine how they are just distorting all of a sudden, i figure it has to do with the signal, but this is stumping me.
