well i finally bent under the pressure to go to Audiotronics, a local car audio store, after the suggestions of my friends and i have finally settled on the fact of getting a JL Stealthbox outfitted with a JL 10W3v3-4 sub with a 500 watt power handling and getting my kicker ZX750.1 amp powered to 500 watts to perfectly equal out the sub/amp combo, I am also putting in 4 polk db651 speakers all 6 1/2"
id say im super excited about this installation
p.s. anyone with a stealthbox installed into their camaro/firebird let me know what you think of it
I have the polk dbs all around and im not amazingly happy with them. Also due to the fact that i spent about 400 bucks on them. I really liked them at first and they are pretty good but now im really in the need of some money so i can go buy some boston acoustics
How much would you want for used polk dbs??? still got about a year left on the warranty for all four of them. HOW MUCH HOW MUCH!!?!?!?!??!

Being that you have warranty, I'm willing to bet you bought them from Circuit City? Then I don't know how the hell you managed to spend $400. They've been $99/pair for the 6 1/2"s since they were introduced. Also, they frequently go one BOGO1/2off deals. Probably once every 4-6 weeks. But even if you paid the full $200 for 4 speakers... AND had them installed for $72 (bumped up to $80 last month), you're no where near $400.
Also, if you're hoping to make some money off the warranty swap, be aware that you must have the box and all that came with them. Without it, they're still give you new ones, but they'll have to open the box and keep everything you didn't give back to them to return to Polk. So now you have an opened box of Polk's that you "say" are new to sell on eBay. Get what I'm saying? It may not be worth you're time.
That aside, I like the dB series. Even at the full retail price, they're decent. Better than most in that price point.
I wasnt trying to get more money off of him or anything. I just know i spent a crapload of money on them and now i dont think they are worth it. The 2 year warranty alone was like, 50-100 each speaker. Anyway, if you want them tell me how much you would spend on new ones and i can bump the price down a lot because i need new speakers now anyway for the new amp im getting.

I'm sorry you feel that way, but you just told everyone that you spent $400 on four Polk dB 6 1/2"s. When you didn't. You had them installed and bought an extended warranty. Which by the way, is sold PER PAIR AND is under $50/pair even for the 4 year. ($34.99 for 2 years, $49.99 for 4 years me thinks)
As I was saying, I couldn't care less if you want to get some use out of your warranty. Just keep what I said about the box/material in mind.
I think I realized where I got my info mixed up here. I also bough 6x9's for the rear for me to custom fit but ended up returning them for 4x6's or 5x7's or something. so the four speakers werent that much.
