  • Anybody have experience with US Amps?

A buddy of mine who I sold my 2 12" Alpine Type-R's to needs a new amp, and is trusting me with finding one. He is on a budget of 200-250 bucks, and we need to push 2 Dual-4 ohm Type R's, so I went searching for 1 ohm stable amps. Came across this one: http://cgi.ebay.com/U-S-AMPS-XT2000D...QQcmdZViewItem and I know US Amps makes good equipment, I just haven't had any experience with them, does anybody know about their stuff? Anybody with better suggestions for finding a 1 ohm stable amp for 200-250 with around 1000 watts RMS? I know its tough to find quality products when were talking this cheap, but another kid wants him to go to a flea market to buy an amp, and knowing the potential of my old Alpine's, would hate to see him waste 100 bucks when he could just spend the little bit extra to get something more powerful and reliable.

thanks for any help in advance!

I've used a few US amps and they're pretty decent. You'll be pretty hard pressed to find an amp for around 200 that actually puts out 1000wrms at 13-14v.

Yeah that US amp you linked looks like a good buy. I wouldn't trust anything from a flea market :) Never know what kind of refurbished/stolen/broken **** they're trying to move there :)
