I have the stealth box from sub thump and I have no idea where to put my amp. I dont want it showing. I think the best place to put it would be the area where the spare tire is located. The questions is what would be the best way to mount the amp in that location?

Re: Where to mount an amp
Build a rack out of mdf or plywood that will fit in there correctly. That is pretty much the only way to do it. This topic has been discussed a bit before, just do some searching, someone else mounted in there and there were concerns regarding heat buildup in that area.
When I had my sound system, I put my amp on top of my Rear Seat Delete box, looked good and no ever f***ed with my car.Y87 Package

Re: Where to mount an amp
spare tire area...get a board of mdf that fits right inbetween the jack and spare tire...fasten it in there (I used the metal clip thing hanging out by the tail lights that secures the plastic sail panel...just put a screw through cause you cant see it anyways)
mount your amp to that board, and run your wires under your carpet and place the sail panel back on...I havent had any issues to date with overheating but I have an audison amp and it has a fan inside so....only issues I am having right now is I touched one of my setting and it F**ked up everything...hence my trouble issue in the other thread...I just cant leave **** alone...:spank:

Re: Where to mount an amp
I remember seeing a pretty sweet amp install on a piece of MDF that attached to the spare tire, and allowed you to keep the tire and jack. There was a write up and instructions on a car domain page somewhere, I'll see if I can find it, but if not I'm sure someone else here will chime in and post the link.
Everyone on here has been saying mount it on MDF, but remember your amp rack just has to be structurely sound, you can build it out of anything, density doesn't matter.K&N air filter, Whisper air lid, magnaflow LT1 cat back, and magnaflow high flow cat, pacesetter headers, silverstars

more to come soon
but for now im out of money

Re: Where to mount an amp
Get the back hatch tinted. :P
I have %40 tint on the back, and you can't see in. (you can still see out the rear view mirror though) You can't see the chromed amp on the flat area behind the rear seat, and it is all the way back.
Might as well do the sides while you're at it. I actually feel safe leaving my laptop in the back seat, because the rear+side tint makes it too dark to anything back there from the windshield.

Re: Where to mount an amp
Actually it's 17% :D
Only got ticketed for it once in the past year.
*officer puts meter over window*
O: "Son, you see this here number, it says seventeen."
Me: "Yaaa?"
O: "It should say seventy."
Me: "Ohhhh."
*feign ignorance*
O: "You can ether have a shop take it off in 24 hours, or pay $60."
Me: "Ok."
*thinking to myself: at least he didn't get me for the straight pipes too*
Still riding dark.
(looks hella nice on silver paint/black wheels/clear corners/euro taillight)
