Ok...so Im really rattled that my sound system is messed up...I dont know what happened, all I know is that my bass doesnt hit as hard anymore, and my speakers seem to not be loud at all at times...like I crank it right up and they are no where near as loud as they used to be...Ive check all my connections from the headunit to the sub to the amp (including inner sub box wires) what could my problem be? Like I have bass but its like half of what it was before...(which is still decent but not enough)

fwiw I have an alpine 9857 HU, audison SRX1 amp, alpine type S 6.5 speakers, and the MZS MTX 10" sub in the cubby hole box...

yea thats happend to me also haha, i would double check everything one more time like do you have bass enhancement settings on it? maybe they were turned down by accident, and check your settings on the hu also just to see if your putting out the maximum power with the settings

yea, I checked that...and just went over the wiring again last night still no luck....one thing I do notice though is when the sub was on before, if you stood at the front of the car you could hear a deep bass....now nothing...

I also remember when I used to work on the car (sound system) my parents used to complain it shook the china cabinet in the house....now it doesnt...So despite my crappy hearing lol, I know something is just not right...the bass is only ok now...HU settings are the same...all I touched was the gain on the amp and it messed it all up, cant get it back to the way it was...

            Re: speaker and bass problem

its turn dial...see the thing is, is its back...I re adjusted all the damn settings but its not working...tried re-tuning everything nothing, still just not bassy enough like how it used to be...

do the rca's make a difference in which way they are in there?...I know the lousy stickers that were red and black have fallin off, but the sub seems to sound the same regardless of which way they are put in....I cant really trace the wires back because they kind of amalgomate into one wire and only branch out at the tips...

              Re: speaker and bass problem

maybe its just the amp itself, try borrowing an amp from someone that will work with the sub and see if its works

                Re: speaker and bass problem

true I should...but I always thought that if the amp was no good would the bass be completly shot?
