Re: sirius antenna
well i have mine on the rear quarter panel right now...and i think it might be hurting my paint some...i took one of those small cotton gloves and cut the palm out of it in a circle and put it between the antenna and the panel...but i don't think thats helping anything....and i know i can get reception through the glass, thats what my brother does in his dakota right now....theres just nothing to stick that magnet to inside...and i don't have a dash cover so therefore my dilemma...the quarter panel thing works good for reception and all but i don't want to damage my paint.

Re: sirius antenna
i have my xm antenna hidden inside the rear spoiler, works perfect. not sure if you can do that with the sirus antenna though. from what i understand sirus is more prone to drop outs if the antenna dosent have a clear line of sight.Last edited by chris greene; 06-11-2008, 06:18 AM.1997 3.8 5-speed Camaro
BMR STB, LCA\'s, SFC\'s,Panhard bar, Torque arm,1LE sway bars
Headers, SLP cold air, Flowmaster catback, takeoff LSD, Eibach pro springs
Hurst shifter, 01 Z28 guage cluster w/ white face overlays, billet grill w

I have found Sat antennas to be pretty damn forgiving. Usually only being covered by metal will affect signal reception. I recommend finding a spot on the interior of the car to prevent weather damage on the antenna. It may not happen in 6 months.... maybe not a year.... but it will happen. I probably replace at least one a week for such damage.
EDIT: anyone reading this.... also take note of this for GPS antennas. Them puppies are expensive replace!

Re: sirius antenna
solocamaro how did you get that antenna to stay there? on my firebird that piece is not metal (I don't think..well at least the magnetic antenna wouldn't grab it, because i tried that first...although i tried to hide it in the t-tops),.....and palmharbor how do you keep the antenna from moving around up there?..again...magnetic antenna...Last edited by dgreet77; 06-11-2008, 08:46 PM.
