about a year ago i bought a jvc aftermarket cd player with ipod attachment.
now the cd player doesn't work. i put a cd in and it didn't read it. now when i switch to CD it doesn't do anything or read it at all. when i hit the open button it doesn't work so i can't even get the cd out. this is a stab in the dark but is there anyway i can fix this? or at least pry that cd outa there?
Seriously, it's not worth it trying to fix it. I haven't had good experiences with JVC headunits, they are not quality built IMO. My sister had a JVC deck for a year or two, and it went up in flames...literally. Replace it with a Pioneer (my personal top choice) or another decent brand like alpine or eclipse. Take the unit apart once it's out to get the cd out, that's really about all you can do.
I believe EVERY headunit comes with a minimum of one year warranty. But unless you bought an extended warranty from the store in which you purchased the player, you're going to have to provide proof of the date of purchase and mail it out to JVC. It'll probably take them 3-6 weeks round trip.
Unless this was a high-end expensive JVC, I wouldn't waste my time/shipping money. Buy a new one and call it a day.
exactly, it was like 100$ and i got it mainly because it had ipod hook up, so i rarely use the cd part of it anyhow, i just hook up my ipod and go. since it was so cheap i'll prlly either leave it and just use my ipod all the time or get a nice deck like i've always wanted now that i do have some $
