    Re: back speakers

Do the full component set up front, and then just hook up the woofer from the components in the rear.

      Re: back speakers

Will do. Everything is currently on order and should be here 1-2weeks from now. Can't wait, I feel like a little kid at Xmas. Next is a comp cam, abott heads, msd ignition and all that other jazz. Probably be more excited when doing all that fun stuff.

I never once even hinted at not replacing the rear speakers.

Build a concrete solid front stage.

Then build the rest of your system around that. Bass is easy. Even quality bass is easy by comparison. Spend the dough on component speakers for the front. Think about how you plan on installing/positioning them. Pour on the power. If you need rear speakers, a quality midrange will fill in nicely. (CDT maybe?) Add bass to taste.

Understood. The RE Comp set will be place up front with 6.5s I'm back. (2) RE SE12d4s in a 2.5^3 custom enclosure. Powered by Hifonics Brutus BXi1606D amp, Cerwin Vega 400.4 amp for comps. Pioneer DEH-7800MP HU and runs of either 4 or 1 gauge wiring. A cap is not likely but might happen, prolly not though.
