Does anyone here have these in car or at home?? They are vibration devices that mount under a seat to make for an immersive environment. I would like to have a pair to install on my couch at home for the effect in movies. I have a couple questions about them.....

    Wiring - series or paralell?

Amp hook-up - are they hooked up to an amp as if you are hooking up speakers?

    Amp hook-up = Yes.

Wiring = depends on how many you have and what amp you'll be using. Just like any speaker. You'll probably be using a home audio amp, correct? Most are rated to push 8 ohm loads.

Make sure they're mounted to something solid. Not just stuffed into the foam of a cushion.

I would use 2, 1 on each side of a reclining love seat. My home theater system has a seperate "B" channel output, but could it be hooked up to that output (full range) or a sub out? Where is the best place to get them, I've seen 'em online for $50 to $400 each!!

If I'm remembering correctly, I think you can get a pair of the lower power cheaper kind for like $60-$75. (Maybe 25-50W?) And the higher power ones for $100-$125. (75-100W?) I think the more expensive ones come with their own amplifier. Obviously adding to the cost greatly.

Also do some research on different ones. I have heard complaints about the actual noise they produce. A lot of people may be satisfied with the rumble provided, but can hear a cheap cheesy cell-phone like vibration noise which ruins their movie watching experience.

The real issue being that I believe they are 4 ohm. And your home receiver is rated for 8 ohms. Obviously running them in series would be the solution, however what kind of power out would you then get? And watch out because some are sold as 2 ohm bass shakers. Likely useless when powered by a home receiver.

Here's some of the "better" ones. $93 shipped for the pair.
