does the whine go up and down in pitch with the engine RPMs? Maybe a ground loop problem.

Yeah it goes up and down with the RPMs. I had the grounds at the same spot now there are at two different spots and nothing changed

Are all the RCA wires fully plugged in on both the amp and the source? I've had a ground loop from a loose signal wire before.

What kind of amp is it? Is it the same as the first amp?

you can get a ground loop isolator from you local audio store; hook it up behind the HU and give it a good ground (I did the metal casing on the HU) and it should stop the whine.

I had the same problem. It turned out I had a bad plug wire and after I replaced all of them the noise went away. The radio (sirius) was picking up what the plug wire was putting out.

Ground loop isolaters dont always work. It's sort of hit N miss.

In my experience, ive seen this happen a dozen or more times, when running an amplifier off your RCA's one of the RCA's isnt properly grounded.

              Try this,
try taking a wire, grounding one side, and taking the other side with exposed wire and holding it against each of the RCA' outputs one at a time to see if the problem goes away.

I had a whine that wouldnt go away, it was terrible, I tried 3 different isolators, i kept improving and relocating my grounds, switched amps, everything and it still did it.

Grounded one of my RCA's on the back of the headunit and the problem went away.

Since I found the problem, Ive found it alot. Im not sure if it's just with pioneers but thats all Ive seen it on.
