Re: JVC Sterio install
Heh, it's in white text. I had everything figured out before anyone replied, but now i've got anouther problem. the adapter Circuit City gave me to plug a set of wires into the radio doesn't fit into the radio, just the car. And i can't figure out how the radio will sit in the bezel once i'm done without falling out.

Re: JVC Sterio install
Circuit City sells "speed harnesses". One end will fit the car. The other end is a universal plug that fits A SECOND HARNESS that you can buy from them. This second harness is brand specific. (So buy the JVC one) If you do not want to spend the extra money on the 2nd harness, you can snip off the universal connector and wire it color to color with the harness included with your JVC. Same thing. 2nd harness just saves you the trouble.
To install the headunit, you need to slide off the headunit's "cage" that is snapped in place around it. (Locking tab on each side. Just pull them back with a flathead)
Next, install JUST THE CAGE into the dash kit. Using the flathead, bend the tabs closet to the end of the dash kit outwards away from the center of the kit. Bend several all the way around. Bend them up good and tight. The cage should not wiggle AT ALL.
Connect your harnesses to the stock harness, connect the antenna adapter, make sure to string the harness and antenna wire through the middle of the cage/dash kit, and then screw the dash kit into place. Now, plug the harness and antenna wire into your headunit. Slide the headunit into the cage about half way. Leave the headunit slightly hanging out, and then flip the key to the ignition position. Give the headunit a test. Ensure all speakers are playing. If they are, push the headunit back through the cage until you hear/feel those clips on each side snap into place. Re-install dash trim. Enjoy.

I think you're still confused. The "adapter" so you don't have to splice anything IS the speed harness. Well, both harnesses would be speed harnesses. Anything with that universal connector IMO.
