So Questions,
My friend has a 99 bird and the driver said "sub" is blowin and its 6 inch correct? Can i drop in 6.5s with out modding or cutting? Or is there a direct replace ment for these "subs"

If you have "subs" back there, surely you have the Monsoon system. You will need a 2 ohm replacement speaker. Also, any speaker you put back there will only receive low frequencies from the stock amp.

The dual 4 ohm (D4) version is what you need. They are sold individually. You'll also need to add a small spacing ring when installing them, as they are a touch too deep to just drop in.

How thick is your spacer ring?

That's not my car, but here's a better pic:

Looks about 1/2". If you don't feel like making them out of wood, most install shops sell 6 1/2" plastic spacer rings. I've seen up to 1.5" thick rings. Like $18 pair.

there's some bazookas floating around that are supposed to be comparable. I will probably buy the EDs though, depending on hwat type of price I get them for in about 3 weeks

Yeah, but they were out of stock. Couldn't find them on eBay either.

you cna get the bazookas on their website, but I choose to not post this on here. They do not take a spacer, but I believe the sound quality of the EDs is just slightly better

So there are replacements taht will just drop in and fir perfectly without any modification or work, and those are made by Bazooka?
