thinking about running a pair of 6x9 speakers like this partly because I don't have many places to mount them, partly because I think it would look tight. Seems kinda inefficient but I'm not really in SPL competitions.
the red is audio deadening. I think I've seen setups like this before, but I couldn't find a picture. Pardon my suckage with ms paint...
I think rad understands. I'd be just mounting the drivers upside down and deadening the bottom to prevent interference. I don't think I'll run into clearance issues...got at least 18 inches of room vertically right behind the back seats. I'm a little worried about interference from my sub though
OK; so you're putting them in the rear hatch panels? I'm pretty sure you're going to have clearance issues as I've heard of people putting 6x9's in the proper way with a grill and having issues. I highly doubt the grill is bigger than your 6x9's (unless they're junk 6x9's, in which case I wouldn't even worry about it)
alright....scratch that, I guess no one understands what I'm saying. I'm talking about mounting them on top of the gas tank area without a box. This is in a bird by the way so I have no speakers back there currently (except the sub in the trunk). I'll keep looking for a pic
try it...if it sounds like **** make a box for them and mount them properly....you can make a fake floor back there, OR purchase the panels off of a camaro/firebird that did have speakers in the rear hatch, and put them in there....
