  • Speaker grill vibrations. Please help!

    Hey everybody.
I've got a small problem that I need some help with.
    Ok, here's my situation.
I just recently installed new speakers in my 2002 camaro.
They sounded amazing up until about 2 weeks of being in my car.
It's obvious that these ***6 1/2's*** pack a little more bass than the stock speaker system and now because of that it's causing my speaker grills to vibrate to the point that the music sounds bad.
Is there a easy fix for this problem?
Preferably something that will be reversable so that I can easily return it to stock.
    Thanks everybody.

I would assume he modified the rear hatch panels to accommodate? At any rate, wedging anything soft between the two rattling panels will solve your problems. Remove the grill, run a thin piece of weather stripping around the outside of the grill, reinstall.

thanks 96firebird311...i think that might fix the problem.
        i'll have to try.
the reason that slipped my mind is because i figured the vibrations would just push the soft material out of place.
any other solutions would be appreciated.
        thanks guys.

That's what I was thinking too, but most 6x9's won't fit back there with grills.

I have the same problem; I've read of people putting a small piece of cardboard behind the panel and that helping.

Worked on the 88 fbird i had. Pioneers front/rear6x9 and kicker sub and amp...it was actually funny whenever something progressed into a annoying rattle, snip and it stopped rattling for a few months. I even put a thin layer of cardboard under the hatch release.

I have a 02' now and the sail panel speaker on the drivers side is starting to do it
