Blown 6.5" monsoon speakers.

Hey everyone, ive worked with audio alot before and this is the first time i really got stumped on something. I have an 02 firebird with the monsoon system and my 6.5 subs behind the fronts seats just blew. I went too 2 audio shops looking for speakers cuz i know they are 2 ohm and that is a little more difficult to find i found out... my question is that there is 4 wires and both shops i went to told me to get stock replacements. but i rather spend the money and get something that will last. does anybody know is it possible to hook up new speakers with just 2 wires and what a good brand would be. the only one i seem to find that are exact match are some kickers that are 6.5" at 2 ohms. Plz let me know if you know anything bout the wiring or replacement subs! Thanks!

do those have 4 wire connectors on them? and i know with 4 ohms u loose 35% of your power? im just curious if you noticed anything with yours. thanks

they should have 2 connectors on them; they're dual 4 ohm, so you'll wire them up for a 2ohm load so you won't lose any power.

That is for the camaro. The firebird actually uses a dual 4 ohm sub in the sail panels. Hence the 4 wires.

Cubsfan, yes. They have 4 connectors on them. You will lose nothing. Watch your polarity when connecting.

Yup. Camaro has 2 ohm subs. Firebird has dual 4 ohm subs. Same load, just slightly different wiring to get there.:)
