the r would be nice bout the mounting depth is too deep, the stealth box depth is 5" at most.

There's not too many under 5" that I would consider "powerful."

            10" Kicker Comp = 4 13/16"
            10" Alpine Type-S = 4.3"
            10" ED K-series = 5"

As noted previously, you'll need to purchase the dual 4 ohm version of which ever subwoofer you choose. Those that are not DVC are still available in both 2 ohm and 4 ohm models.

That is still a 6" mounting depth and if you have 5" max, I think no.

Like I said.... anything worth a damn is going to have a mounting depth greater than 5". This is the only RE sub you're fitting in there:

We won't even discuss that you should have room behind any sub utilizing a vented pole piece/backplate....

Re: Best 2 ohm subwoofer for Side Stealth Box

i ended up buying the sub thump box so it could fit up to 9 inch deep. That RE i put the link is for 6" deep with .4 - .6 cubic feet of air and 600rms. So i think it would be a good fit that would sound very nice. The subthump seems like a more ligit soloution then the cheap ebay one. Ive always bought alpine so i want to change it up a little bit. cant fit my alpine x in there :( haha

Go with the Alpine its cheaper and it is know for its sound quality by many people on this board alone, unless you have heard that sub before or the company. I haven't heard of that company or brand and I wouldn't buy a subwoofer from a dealer that says this is similar to JL Audio, sounds like to me it is a knock off. Plus that is rated for 1200 watts while Alpine is 1500 watts , lower price and known by people. Go with Alpine.

Re: Best 2 ohm subwoofer for Side Stealth Box

First off, that's a dual 2 ohm sub you linked us to. It actually states it's both dual 2 ohm and dual 4 ohm in the description, however at the top it's clearly labeled "SE10D2 Dual 2 Ohm."

Next, Resonant Engineering is a great company. Sorry you haven't heard of them ssms, but they've been around for years. Great products. Do me a favor.... check out US Amps homepage. I think it's safe to say they're not a knock off brand. LOL

With all that said, the Type-R is still the better choice in this small box situation. I modeled up a graph for you:

The Type-R is ever so slightly louder than the SE10. Sound quality/frequency response is going to be identical. Not really much to even worry about. But when you add that the SE10 is a good 30 bucks more expensive, it really only makes sense to go with the Type-R.
                        http://cgi.ebay.com/Alpine-TYPE-R-SW...QQcmdZViewItem

Let me also add that I like the screw-less look of the Type-R over the SE10. It comes with a rubber "concealer gasket" that fits right into the mounting ring to cover up the mounting screws. Looks clean and polished.....compared to the eight, hopefully straight, screw-heads you'd be looking at with the SE10. lol

Re: Best 2 ohm subwoofer for Side Stealth Box

I've heard of US Amps, but when a CO. says their item is like another CO. I automaticly think they are a Knock off , because if they were a big CO. they shouldn't need to compare their product with another, thats just saying their product is a copy or they tried to copy it. US Amps almost bought I think it was a 48" amp(something like that 4500 RMS) for them back in the day when I was running 2 PPI 2300am amps to 4 Kicker Solo Baric 15's and going to SPL events in the valley this was in 93'-96'. One first a couple of times. Nothing like a walled 83' cavalier, I almost lost the windshield in it, I miss the bass mobile.LOL

RE made no such quote. Some douche bag selling on eBay did.

Secondly, I just asked you to visit US Amps homepage. Not to view US Amps equipment, but rather REs. lol I don't see a manufacturer as highly regarded as US Amps allowing a knock-off brand to advertise with them.:)
