The only thing is you'd have to make sure that you block it VERY well, if not the A/C blowing on it could cause condensation inside the unit, or heat could cause it to overheat...
Rebuilding the engine... Building a custom front end... T-top conversion... Custom rear hatch..

T-mill all definite things to consider. Thanks I would think though a good cut,sanding it down to a square edge,cut piece of plastic to fit,use some quality plastic epoxy and your good. I have looked high and low for someone or something on the web to go by but have come across nothing. If anyone knows where I can get any info on doing this please hook a brotha up. Because I definately think this is the direction I'm going to lean but before I attempt it want to gather as much intel as I can. Thanks
Um actually yes it does. I've done it several times.
Maybe you are confused. But the factory opening in the f-bodys is not double-din. It is 1.5 din. So those folks on ls1tech.com had to cut their center dash/console area to install their double din units too.
Don't know if you missed this or what.
If you're willing to cut/hack/bondo the hell out of other places in your car, I don't see why you'd be leary of doing any trimming around the dash. After you put the trim back over it, you can't even tell. Pretty certain you could reinstall the stock radio and use the factory trim piece and nobody would ever know.
Other than the price of the bezel being a little high, it's the balls out best solution in every way. What more could you possibly ask for?!?

Thats a 1.5 din though not two singles. There would be alot more cutting involved and seeing how the center console cover is grooved and waved in some areas just don't think it'd end up looking stock. Theres plenty of room under the cover but when it would be reinstalled it would cover two single dins. Know what I'm saying?

What are you not understanding?! The picture above is a modified double-din opening. Yes, factory radio size is 1.5 din. The pic above is a custom dash panel that allows double-din units to fit into the factory 1.5 din cavity. Yes, two single-din units stacked together will equal a double-din. I've done it several times. If you want to go back to stock later on, mount the factory radio back in and use the factory dash panel. Nobody will ever know a double-din used to be installed.

idk how different ur sound field processer is to mine, but i have and older setup. I have an Alpine deck mounted using the usual 1-din install kit; the Alpine sound processer i have is 2 separate components - the brain box, which looks like a small amp, is mounted in the back seat side panel - in the space right behind the door (there is a chunk of styrofoam in there that i pulled out to make room), and the control panel with the display, which looks exactly like a removeable head unit face, is mounted on a "shelf" i made above the deck. I have the control panel velcroed to the shelf for removal from view when parked. The "shelf" is double-stick-taped to the dash, and the panel rests on it. All connections are Alpine's AI-net, cables are long enough to reach everywhere. Like i said, i have an older set-up, may not be the same type of sound field processer; it's cool though cuz it has delay timing, reverb, surround sound, and different adjustable sound fields like church, hall, dance club, stadium, plus a 7 or 14 band EQ, which you can EQ left and right channels seperately. All for car audio!! It was 500 bucks 10 years ago!
