I'd pull the headunit out, put a multimeter to the stock wires for ignition and battery power, then drive around awhile. If it happens every time you drive like you say, then this should be no exception. If power never disappears, then replace headunit. If it does, replace (or repair) BCM.
Not neccesarily, the deck has TWO power sources, constant power, and switched power. The RED & YELLOW power wires on an aftermarket wire harness.
The switched power controls the on / off with the car ignition, and the constant power controls the memory, which will save your preset radio stations, runs the clock, and ejects cd's without needing to power on the car (most radio's have that option)
Instead of running your switched wire from the radio's stock harness, you could run a wire from the radio's harness to the fuse panel, and use a multi-meter to find a fuse that turns on and off with the ignition, and run it from there.
You could run both the power and switched wire off the fuse box (2 different locations if you wanted / needed to )
SrtRacer's answer is a great solution if you are infact losing power. Test with the multimeter. If you never lose ignition or constant power.... rerunning new power obviously wont fix your problem.
Although if I were a betting man, I would probably wager that you ARE losing power. Doubtful the stock radio would have that particular type of fault..... but not impossible. lol
alright im taking a shot at mine,
so the pics in the link dont show up
it says the bcm is in a black box that just "unsnaps"
i found the box no problem, but how the hell does it unsnap?

scrach that, i got the bcm out but now i cant really see if anything has a small crack and needs solder, the pics from the ls1 tech link dont show up so if someone can post them here or another pic showing what needs to be solderd, that would help me out a ton.

Just solder the loose resistor lead to the board and you're done.
I couldnt see anything wrong with it but i threw a little solder on there anyway.
And i havent had it cut out for a couple months now
well when i got home from work today i pulled the bcm out again and soldered the contact points that were showen in the pic, seems like its fixed but only time will tell, ill let everyone know if its fixed tomorrow when i go to work.
