  • Tire diameter size biggest to run DD

I just wanted to know what is the biggest tire size that one could run DD, for the front and rear being the same size? I have 17 X 9.5 ZR1 rims all way around and since I'm running the under turbo K with oval pipping I would still like more oh Sh!t room in case a speed bump comes out of no where. I was thinking 275/45/17's then I found 2 differnt tires for 275/50/17's which puts the diameter at 27.8"'s all around and 25.66";s is 275/40/17's. So that 2" more and it would fil in my tire gap. I have ground effects so I don't thin it would look to bad. I have 26" tires for the track so I'm good there. Need some info on what I can run as in tallest diameter, I'm at stock height or even a little more right now. Let me know thanks, 275/45/17 or 275/50/17's ?

i have 275/45/17 on right now, and i have plenty of room, and my car is lowered, so 275/50 should be fine

I was looking at these, they have a 420 thread wear which is good for AZ ans 130 MPH speed rating which is good enough for me, for the streets.LOL And mine isn't lowered it is raised alittle.

running 275/40/17zr's on mine, lowered as well. since it's dry out there in AZ and you'll need something to keep up with the added power---go Nitto's or go home is my vote!

mine are nasty on dry cornering and will cut loose for drifting, but never let me get out of control.

Your right baller, for $80 the Nittos would be better for grip with the turbo, comes out to like $660 shipped for all 4, I'm going to go to discount with my printout and see if they can beat it , suppose to be like 10% if they can find a better deal since I always get my tires there since like 98, with all the diffferent vehicles I had besides the Camaro. I think it will look mean with the sidewall action and won't have to worry about cubs as much.LOL I think the taller tire puts my 3.73's at like 3.58'd or something like that so it wil help my spool also , everybody wins.LOL Thanks for pointing that out man.

My drag radials are M.T. drag radials on17X9" chtomed SS rims 275/40/17 and front polished prostars are 215/65/15 both come out to 26"s in diameter. Should be fun.

lol, i tried to get a shop to put 255/50/16s on all 4 tires and they said, oh that's too wide, it will look dumb. I laughed at them, said I didn't want your opinion on whether my camaro is cool enough for you..i asked which car he had,, oh that honda civic out there..i go oh, the one with the fart can?? no, that's a FULL exhaust, i laughed and said i'd take my business elsewhere. DONT GO TO FIRESTONE!!

Basing your opinion of an entire nationwide chain off of one ricer employee is pretty stupid if you ask me. My local firestone has very nice employees and seems to be a very well run, clean place. I'm not particularly fond of one employee, but that doesn't make me steer everyone away from the place.

I can't say I'm running anything bigger diameter wise than stock, but there is plenty of room to go bigger with my 275/40(35)/17(18)s, even lowered a good bit. Chances are you will probably rub pretty bad on the front when turning with 275/50/17s, and you may have to get your quarter panels rolled, but you may be able to manage it.

With the 9.5 rims my 275/40/17 Yoko's just clear the front shocks and just touch the plastic inner liner at full lock.

I have no inner fenders on mine, took them out with the under plastic along time ago. I'll have discount put one on then turn the steering, I should have my 14.4 steering ratio on by then. Also raised another 1" or so. Know guys that have ran 28" tires before but have skinnies on the front.
