Like stated where can I find these tires, I look online but couldn't find much, are they special order? Who makes them ? I thought I saw Kuhmo did but doesn't show up on TireRack.com or any where. Thanks Steve

Thats what I was thinking, do you or anyone know what brands are out there and what prices I'm looking at, when I finally need a set? Thanks

Their website lists prices and brands. And they do pricematching.

I'm curious ssms, why 275/45/17 when 275/40/17 is readily available? Is the 40 series too low a profile for daily driving? I ask this as I am looking at a set of 'vette wheels that currently have the 275/40/17 tires and am wondering if they would be a good choice for my spring/summer/fall daily driver.

Yes, for more sidewall for protection and little more height, going from a 40 series to a 45 series is about 1" in height. I still might try 275/50/17's which would be 2" 's more but it might look too funny. I'm also trying to protect my turbo pipes as much as I can, which I think I have already but you can never have too much protection. I have 26" tires for the track if I go. Front are Prostars and the rear are 17X9 SS rims with 275/40/17 M.T. Drag radials. Thanks for the responses

Theres alot of places just none with 275/45/17, I can get the 275/50/17 for $568 shipped but I don't know if that is too big, but I'll try discount tomorrow when I do some running around, did too much the other day and haven't been feeling well.

                    :bs:

No way a 275/60/17 would fit. 275/40/17 is exactly the same as the stock 245/50/16 size. A 275/50/17 is a full 1.9 inches larger diameter, and a 275/60/17 is a full 4.3 inches larger diameter than the stock size. No way that would fit without fairly extensive modification.

                      oh snap! ^

vr4 why would you want a 60 to begin with? i thought my stock 50's were hideous enough---you could damn near go off roading in 60's haha

The 275/50/17 is 27.83 in height and the 275/40/17 is 25.66 in heightso do you think at stock height I should be fine running the 275/50/17 or should I just go with 275/45/17's? I wouldn't mind the extra side wall and a softer ride with the bigger tires also would make my 3.73's with the turbo into like 3.55's so it would improve its response the higher the tire. They would be for the street while the 26" tires for the track. Sugestions?

I'd do some detective work on your car. You're pretty much going to need a full inch extra clearance around the entire tire. When you consider suspension travel and cornering forces which will bend the tire more and more the higher aspect you get, I would think you may begin to run into rubbing problems with a 50 series 275. But it will vary by car and I don't remember how much/whether you're lowered.
