I have been looking into doing a rear end with disc swap for my 93 Camaro. The rear I am looking at is from a 97 Z28. One thing that was bothering me was the info I was reading about the proportioning valve. I think about 40% of people are saying it needs to be switched and 60% say it dont. So what is the real answer?
I called my local GM part guy and asked him. He said there was only one part number in the system for a 93 Camaro proportioning valve. He also said it was no longer available, but there were no other options on any models.
So is he right or what.
I will be getting as slightly taller gear in the new rear, so I am assuming the speedo and shift points will change. Someone told me there is a part you can put in the auto trans that will fix this issue, has anyone heard of this or done it? I see alot of people mention reprogramming the computer, is that the best way to do it? Who is the best place to send in a 93 computer to have reflashed.
