he kept saying where the arm bolts in...so I kept asking K member? and he kept saying subframe....he said the subframe should just drop right out if you unbolt the steering rack...so im thinking he means K member...we dont have subframe connectors stock?...but I am trying to think of anything else under there that he could of possibly meant? Im gunna try and get under it tommorrow to take a look...

and do you find the standard one strong enough? you daily drive the car right? Im kinda caught between going standard or get the extra bracing right now...

      Re: K member choices

The standard one was absolutely fine. I drive the car in the summer.. Pretty much all summer. It definitely holds up.

na subframe connectors aren't stock. I have some I welded in myself. I wasn't too good at welding then.. lmao.. Hey they didn't fall off yet.

From hearing that though, I think he means k-member too.

Here's the sub frame connectors I have.

Does sound like K member and maybe the A-arm on that side. I haven't had any problems with my K member and I'm pretty rough on it in the corners.

I have toyed with getting that sphoon K member...it is built with thicker tubing...

Its the same price as PA racing with the road race option...

Wow, didn't know they were the same price, thought PA's were like $330, I'm glad I got mine for $240. LOL I think the extra bracing would help you if you were auto crossing alot or have big pot holes where you live. I have always wanted a tub. trans crossmember, but I never can find one for our 3.8's.

                  Re: K member choices

are there any lower A arm choices that do not involve rod ends? are rod ends ok to get? I mean I though that you usually stay away from rod ends as far as suspension goes, unless you are a serious road racer because you need replace them every 2 years or so...?

                    Re: K member choices

I have had my PA racing lower A arms with 1 end that has a rod end and that was the only way I could get it, the rest of the companies had both rod ends at the time. But since in AZ we have no rust and I cover them in lithuim grease they look brand new after 3 years. But I have seen on UMI's site they have the poly ends for the A arms now, so if I replace mine I will just buy them from there so both ends will be poly. You might call them to see if you can get both poly ends on their A arms. I haven't noticed any problems with the rod ends though.

I imagine those rod ends would likely hold up longer than stock. I don't know a whole ton about em but they sure look pretty. lol, i wish I could get some tube upper and lowers but they're so expensive.

What exactly is the problem with rod ends steve? I needs to know!

I know...I've been looking into them for the past little while...would save me sooo many headaches of having to look for ball joints and bushings and crap...just get it all...bolt it together and slide it in...less to think about that way...but I keep saying to myself...for daily driving and the odd drag racing...are they really going to do anything for me?? I mean I think I would save 10lbs a side of unsprung weight...thats about it though...

People think they make it a harder ride, and then they think there not as strong and they can rust out also , I think that is the major complaints. People think their just for the strip but I haven't had any problems with 1 rodend on each side of the lower A arms, I was scared at first thinking they were going to be harsh and loud, but they are smooth and I haven't had any problems, they will probably last forever in AZ since I put grease all over them or I will spray silicone on them just so it looks cleaner, same with my QA-1 shocks and springs I will spray them down with slicone spray and they still look brand new. Just have to keep up the maintance on the car.

Ever since I moved out I haven't been able to go to the strip.. And I'm really curious as to why I want to dump all this money into this car.

btw, I just noticed we would be a pretty damn even match. Except that I would be playing catch up. My last run at the track was like 13.96 at 100mph
I'm f'n boosted damnit. Oh I remember why I'm dumping money into this. My goal is 12's.

                                exactly lol...

It probably would be pretty close...the stall will have me pulling a few lengths on you at the start you are right...my run was running real rich and a 1/2 tank of gas ...I mis calculated...I'm almost positive I can get to 13.8 if I correct that...but its still close lol...I gotta goal of 12's to...I'll race ya there

Steve, do you have a link to those a arms with only poly on the ends? best I can find on anyones site (including umi) is 1 rod, then poly...
