Thought I'd start the age old debate about what tires are best for all around driving while still maintaining performance aspects. In other words, will work in rain, snow, and won't take away from your responsiveness and all that good shtuff

    Re: Tires!

    size? for stockers or aftermarket?

tires are very much a "you get what you pay for" kind of upgrade. i have nitto nt555's and i love them, but the 'maro isn't my DD anymore so its pretty much dry pavement drifting.

      Re: Tires!

I just had some Kumho 235/55R16's put on mine. They're great for aggressive driving and short drives but I wouldn't recommend any long trips with them. Drove to Louisiana and then back with em and my back was killing me. Could have just been the ****ty roads there though.

Mine work great in rain, actually already saved my arse from ending up with an suv on my hood, can't say much about snow though.

toyo proxes4 work greattt. I have a pair on mine, if they are on the front, I am tail happy, on the back not tail happy. I love them and will buy them over and over again. Really grippy on dry, and very grippy in the wet. I didnt have a problem at all in the snow with them on the front.

my Firestone Firehawk 275 R17s are amazing on dry pavement, but anytime it rains or gets the slightest bit slippery, its like driving on ice :/

I almost went with the Toyo proxes4 but they were sold out before I could order them, but my BFG G-Force tires have held up great, esp on dry roads and I gave them a good run in the rain and they handled great.

                  Re: Tires!

Ive got goodyear F1 GS-D3's. Dry and wet traction is awesome, but its hard to get around in the snow. Probably due to width and lack of siping. The water channels are supposed to be 3 times as long as the tire is wide.

kumho's are pretty good yeah --- i've got the ecsta's on my ls1 and they are a pretty decent all around tire, but my nitto's on the BallerMaro have way better dry grip :D
