    Re: widest wheel size

You could fit just about anything with enough modifications. The widest you can usually get without any rubbing problems is 275-285 at each corner. There are plenty of guys who run 315s in the back with minor modifications like bump stop relocation and fender rolling. So as far as wheels, 9.5 all around, or as wide as 11 in the back. And I'd recommend 17s all around, you can check my cardomain out, I have 17/18 staggard.

Yes, I am (as well as many others) running 9.5" wide with 275 wide tires at similar overall height to stock all around and have no rubbing issues at all.

Hi, I just bought a set of 275-40/17 tires. What wheel offset do you recommend to make them flush with the outside of the rim? I'd like to fill up the wheel well without having to lower the car.
          Thanks

mine has 285/40/17's on all 4 corners (budnick 17" x 11" wheels-dont know backspacing-bought car from friend & he had them "custom" made-& may i add, he paid way to freakin much for them which i rib him about merciliessly-haha-i'll see if i can find out more info on them) mine also has been lowered a little bit with hotchkis springs (supposed to be 1.5" lower) & my bud i bought the car from has run it hard in places like "the dragon's tail" (deal's gap) & "track days" at road atlanta & he says even after he lowered it he's never had a rubbing problem with that size tire, even when leaning hard on it-good luck & post some pics for all of us to drool over-lol!

Running a 9 or 9.5" wheel, you will be looking for something between 38 and 56mm positive offset. A lower number will get the outside edge of the wheel and tire to be more flush with the fender, but too little offset and it will stick out and could increase rubbing. I believe most people run about +56mm and with the wider wheels, that is about flush with the wheel wells. Mine are +56mm I believe and are no more than 1/2" tucked into the fenders.

17 X 11 rims use a +50mm and a 315/35/17 tire , I might be getting 2 chrome ZR1 rims with tires for $250 , still debating. The price is great but don't know if I want to run that big or rear tire. Or might run 275/50/17's all around if the front will fit, or 275/50/17 rear and 255/50/17 front tire, should fill in the wheel gap some. You can use a tire calculator to see the diameter and width.
