i have a 2001 3.8V6 Camaro, and i replaced the shocks with Koni's (front and rear) and the swaybars with SS-ones (32mm and 19mm with endlinks and rubbers).
I want to lower the car about an inch, what are the best lowering springs for a V6 Camaro.
The V6 Camao is lighter than a V8, if i put lowering springs of a V8 on the car, is this going to be a problem?
i have always heard to stick with the springs that are designed for you spec vehicle weight, i currently run hotchkis (1.5" drop) & they are specifically for the 3.8l vehicle -hey, btw-let me know how you like the bigger sway bars, been thinkin of going that size myself-thanks & good luck
the greatest improvement were the the adjustable Konis (front and back), you get an complete other car !!
I like the SS-swaybars, they are not expensive (comparising with BMR or Strano), and it's a great upgrade.
I am living in the Netherlands (Europe), and it's difficult to get some performance parts for the Camaro.
But the SS-swaybars with endlinks and rubbers are GM-parts, so i simply ordered them at our Chevrolet dealer in town,
Ls1's and 3.8 are really close to weight and the rear is the same , so I don't see any problems using V8 springs. If your gettting a good deal on them why not try it out. If you have Koni shocks you should be able to change your ride height to want you want to when your done anyways..

Putting V8 springs on your '01 V6 won't make a difference in the rear and will actually raise the front a little. While not much, there is still a weight difference between V8 and V6 front spring rates (V8 at 292 lbs/in and V6 at 257 lbs/in). If you're wanting something around a 1" drop, Hotchkis are the way to go. If you're looking for a little more, Strano springs lower the car about 1.25", but are a little stiffer than Hotchkis (being a linear rate spring instead of a progressive spring). Either will be a good match with those Koni shocks.
