2000 z spring and sway

found a guy selling 2000 z spring and the stock sway bar. thoughts? my initial thought was to jump on both. he said he swapped the springs for v6 springs as they allow for the car to squat more. he said he drag races a lot. also has a pan hard bar and...

Those rear springs won't change a thing, they're the same rate as those on your 2000. Front springs have a slightly higher rate and will make your front end sit higher. If the sway bar is for the front, go ahead and get it if he's offering less than $40. If he's wanting more, I'd pass. You can find a new 32mm 1LE front sway bar for that much on ebay, instead of a used 30mm from that Z28. If it's the rear and is also dirt cheap, you can pick it up and hang onto it until you get some aftermarket rear springs to match.

Panhard bar won't be any different than the one you have.

Depends on what he's asking for them. Springs, I'd pass on regardless. Rear sway bar you could hang on to or turn around and sell, if he's asking a decent price. If you're unsure of the price, check it to those on Ebay or LS1tech. Granted, some of the guys on tech will sell theirs for the price of shipping.

hes looking for $50 for the sway bar. wouldnt the $25 springs from a z be tighter and better for handling than my stock v6 ones?

im not too good on suspension stuff, but i would say it would hurt handling, the front will sit much higher, which i would think would cause body roll and unstable steering

the front suspension is virturally the same except the spring rate, and some cars got bilstein shocks

assuming your car is a v6, it has decarbon shocks, which are orange, bilsteins are yellow/blue and came on the SLP cars... this all of course is assuming everything is stock

$50 is too high for the rear sway bar. You can usually pick them up from LS1 guys that have upgraded for pretty cheap. As for the front springs, they will have a slightly higher spring rate (292 lbs/in vs. your stock 257 lbs/in). While that is a little stiffer, that's not much of a difference in rates to be worth swapping and raising the front end. If you want better handling, upgraded shocks are going to be your best bet. The stock springs handle pretty well on their own, but the deCarbons suck. After getting some better shocks, you could look into getting springs geared toward better handling.

X2 for the sways , I got a 35mm ST front and a 21mm rear with poly bushings and endlinks for $120, Most sways that are stock on ebay go for $20 for a 19mm and if the front is a 32mm then about 30-$40 , so I would offer $30 at the most if it is at least a 19mm or 21mm rear sway since theres no shipping for it, if its not either of those don't even buy it , not worth it. For better stock springs 1LE springs are progressive the rear is 130LBs to 170 LBS and will handle better will have about the same stance, the 02' 1LE rear springs I got where the same height or less than the 00' LS1 springs I had, but like Pace said you'll need better shocks also to complete the package.
