  • Installed FE2 30 mm bar in V6.

My 98 bird had a 28 mm bar in stock bushings/end links. This past fall I was given a 30/19 mm bar set from a FE2 V8. Got poly bushings and end links for the 30 mm bar and installed it this after noon.

Its a nice upgrade that can really be noticed when driving. Not as much as WS6 32 bars would be, but still a very noticeable change. The car feels firmer on uneven road surfaces and over bumps. Turns are where things really stand out with much flatter performance.

I think the use of poly bushings and end links makes the most of the 30 mm bar, and helps make it perform even better than when used with factory bushings. In my case, going from 28 mm in factory rubber bushings to 30 mm in poly is a pretty neat change without making the ride too harsh on washboard and bumpy road surfaces.

All in all, it was a really nice improvement for just the price of the bushings and end links.

Thinking of putting poly bushings and end links on the OE rear bar just to stiffen it up a tad.

BTW, I also installed zerk fittings so they can be greased easy. Just a few minutes more work, but I think well worth the effort.

Larger bars do make a big difference.

I got 32/19 and it was a nice change.

Cool! That must be rock steady. I have the 19 bar too, but have not put it in because other people said it is too stiff and causes the rear to break free unexpectedly under hard cornering. Of course that's from guys who push their cars to the limit, even in the rain. Not that I push my car to the limit, but knowing that the 28 to 30 mm change was a lot, maybe I'll go 15 to 17 in the rear.

This is my daily driver, I just want it to be fun to drive, it doesn't have to be maxed out.

Anyone have 17 they want to trade for a 19?

I have owned F Bodies for over 20 years, the 4th Gen is the most predictable of all, followed by the 3rd gen then the leaf spring 2nds.

I drive my car year round, even in the snow, and its not that bad.

Just don't hammer it through greasy intersections when its wet;)

          My TA had 30/19 stock.

          I went 32/21 WS6 then 35/25 aftermarket

That thing handled like it was on rails.

I have 1LE's right right now 32mm Hollow front and 21mm soilid rear and they are good, but when I had a 35mm ST front and the 21 mm rear with lowering springs in did handel on rails. Once I lower mine back down after the under K turbo install I hope to regain so of my handling becuase my QA-1's handle great for street and I hope the 315/35/17 rears and 275/40/17 front will be great for handling. I left the 21mm rear sway for the track for better straight line performance but I hope the rear weight on the street will help the little bit of oversteer and the added weight of the turbo up front also since the front end is alot lighter.

Cool. Love the 315 look. What rims and what brand tire will you have on it?

I will have the Sumittos in the rear to try out and I will keep my BFG G-force up front, or might throw on my Weld rims and skinnies to run them for alittle bit. [I] haven't decided, I might call them today and change the rear tires to the Toyo brand they look real nice. The Sumittos were $106 a piece thats why I picked them up and only $20 to ship. I got them at Online tires. I'm lowering the rear end back down some , maybe a 1" or so . It will be back to stock height I think. Well see.

Yeah, the Sumitomo tires get good reviews on tire rack, but some guys on the fbody and mustang forums complain about traction issues. I think when you are pushing 400 hp in a 3000 lbs car, you are going to have traction issues no matter what you run.

Been looking at them too. With a set of the ZR1 rims in silver paint finish. Look pretty close to what is on the car now.
