I am thinking about getting new shocks. I got the car with 94,000 miles on it 2 years ago, and it has about 116,000 miles now. I'm not sure if they have been replaced or not. (they are orange, not sure what the stock ones look like) But I was wondering what the best CHEAP shock is. I'm talking under $50 per shock preferably. I don't do autocross or anything, just occasional trips to the track and daily-ish driving.
you cant get cheap front shocks unless you buy used ones.
i know you arent going to like this answer, but dont do shocks now, wait a bit and save up money for good ones. cheap shocks are junk, and will go bad in ~20,000 miles... ask me how i know.

yeah, i was in the same position as you, and i got some KYB gas adjust shocks for really cheap (i got the fronts in used, but never installed condition, the the rears new) and they just arent that good.
i put them on about a year ago, and they made a huge difference compared to the stock ones that were shot, but i think they could be a lot better
Cheapest shocks I would go would be KYB ADJ.'s or Blisteins. Or look into the KYB gas adjust shocks.

how much does lowering help handling? I'm scared to do it on mine because of clearance issues. I hit my front nose enough in my town now let alone down another inch. You should see the roads.
I had the kyb agx's and a prokit for about 4000 miles before I wrecked, I thought it was a really nice setup and it wasnt too too expensive either. that stuff is for sale right now too... just saying.

how much are you asking for just the shocks? I don't want to lower my car any.
