Strano on difference between Bilstein HDs and SLPs!!
Strano on difference between Bilstein HDs and SLPs!!
I asked Sam what the difference between Bilstein HDs and SLPs and this was his response.
The shocks are pretty much identical these days... Very, very slight difference in the rear valving. I prefer the SLP over the HD (again just a tiny little bit), and the SLP's are cheaper...
Re: Strano on difference between Bilstein HDs and SLPs!!
Just bought my Blistein SLP's from Sam. Put them on today using the stock springs. I can't tell you the difference between the HD's and the SLPs since I replaced the stock DeCarbons (60k on them), but the ride is 100% better than those French orange tubes that were under there. If anyone is on the fence about getting a set of new Bilstein SLPs for their daily driver, I'd say go for it. I haven't pushed the car yet, but I'm sure they make a great shock for the track too (and if you are still riding around with the original shocks, talk to Sam).

Re: Strano on difference between Bilstein HDs and SLPs!!
Well I finally got my Bilsteins in and have had time to drive the car enough to get a good feel of it.
I am happy the tail wag is gone because that was just dangerous. The car is definitely more planted and confident in turns. It goes over bumps evenly on the highway without any side to side movement...barely any up and down either. The suspension is taking most of the movement instead of the car. This is definitely was a good purchase and a good price.
I recommend these to anyone with a daily driver.
Haven’t done anything on the Camaro, but put LEDs on my truck headlights . And my oil pressure sensor went out on the truck so going to fix that this...
