    Re: Ive had enough...

My suggestion while you're driving it on those roads... pretty much what Gr8Schlotzky said.

Bilstein shocks. These will run a little over $400. Probably want to stick with the stock springs with the terrible potholes and roads up that way. I'd recommend picking them up from Strano for install advice, but other than that they'll all be around the same price once shipping's factored in.

1LE 32mm front sway bar. Pair this with some poly bushings and endlinks. Just be sure to grease it all well.

Like said earlier, you can stick with your stock 17mm rear bar, but might have a bit of extra understeer. Or you could pick up a used Z28/TA 19mm rear bar. Also pair that with some poly bushings, endlinks, and grease.

Bumpstops. Definitely a necessity. They're made of a rubber foam and will dry rot after some time. Don't go used when you can get them new. GMpartsdirect, Summit Racing, and a few other places have them. Part number is 10164173 and this is what they look like (tiny picture):

After that and replacing any excessively worn bushings you can find, this should make quite a difference in your car's driving habits. Should be enough until you start building that thing for the track. ;)

      32 MM sway bar
New endlinks all the way around
      Panhard Rod
      Subframe Connectors
      Strut Tower Brace

        Re: Ive had enough...

So....so far, Im hearing a 32mm in the front, a 19mm in the rear for sway bars, poly bushings and endlinks for all of it.....

Im thinking about going the KYB route for the shocks. I can't justify spending $300+ for anything else, and I can find KYB easier and a little more cheaper on ebay and such.

Yes, that should drastically improve the handling of your car, and retain the practicality of the stock ride height. And like I said, you can probably find the sway bars with poly bushings and even end links already with them and not too old for very fair prices.

I would sugest subframe connectors , KYB ADJ. so you can adjust them , 1le springs , bigger sways like said but a 21 mm rear with a 32mm front (will work great with the springs and shocks) , STB , and replace your LCA and panhard rod bushings with moog. Also might go with the poly trans mount and tq arm while your at it. You'll also want new front shock mounts.

you just rattled off well over $1000 worth of stuff, which is outside my budget. although I would LOVE to have it all, I must keep it cheap.

                  Re: Ive had enough...

You can get the KYB's for $330 the 1LE springs ebay $100 , sways about $100 , STB $80, SFC's $120, bushings maybe $100, I got all my 1LE's off ebay and craigslist for cheap maybe $120 for the rear 21mm, front 32mm and rear springs. Or just do the shocks and SFC and STB and that should stiffen it up enough for you and just check around for the sway bars and springs, and buy the moog bushings and poly trans mount. I'll have a spare poly trans mount in red here pretty soon (putting in a black one) , if you pay shipping its yours. I'll throw in some rubber bushings so its even spaced correctly for your driveshaft.

I just upgraded to Bilsteins SLP from Strano (Stranoparts.com). That was the only thing I replace on the 95 and it was well worth it. No more "kickout" on corners, much more comfortable in general. Suspension is still stiff as designed, but perfect for street potholes and the occasional pedestrian.

Spend the money on the shocks. You won't regret it. There are other shocks you can go with too, but from what I've read, I wouldn't get the $30 parts store replacements.

Wes, I might have a set of stock shocks/springs that *should* be sitting in the trunk of the new car I could sell ya for fairly cheap...they're supposed to have 60k (37,500 miles) on them...if your just looking for a decent cheap replacement that isn't garbage it's an alternative...

Let me know, I havent even looked at them yet, they are burried under the contents of the interior of the new car that still has to go in...
