  • What bushings to get?

So I'm getting ready to start putting the Camaro back together, and decided to go ahead and replace all of the bushings, but I'm not sure what to get...

Goals: Solid daily Driver, I might do some autocrossing in the future, but my main concern is to have a fun/stiff/reliable/low-maintenance suspension

I'm lowering the car 1", will be installing LCA relocation brackets, adj. Panhard, STB, and Bilsteins all around...

So what Bushings should I get? So far I'm thinking Poly trans, Sway bar, sway-bar links... and solid rubber rear LCA, and upper and lower control arms in front, am I leaving any out?

    thoughts?

    suggestions?

I found this thread to be quite helpful:

If you're considering autocross in the future, might flip through an SCCA rulebook to make sure that certain bushings won't bump you up in classes. If you're not concerned with classing, the link above should be solid.

I was going to get one of those kits but I didn't think poly was good for control arms for DD... am I wrong on this?

Ive never heard that, but that doesnt mean its untrue. FirebirdGT will probably find this thread before too long and give you some insight. The before and after with this kit is night and day though.

So does anyone else have any insight? My main concern at this point is whether I should go with poly LCA front and rear...

There is an administrator on the linked forum called EnergyGeek. I am sure he could answer your questions if you want to mess with sending him a message.

I'm running polys everywhere but the engine and trans and experience no rattles and tighter steering with boxed rear LCAs. I keep everything greased yearly and have had no problems. I don't drive the car in the winter though.

Mines all poly and have no problems for 9 years, but now I only drive about twice a week.

I think mines a Prothane but their all just about the same. Just make sure when you do your trans mount to use Igora's write-up with the rubber bushings , helps alot I just 2 of the sway bar ones left over from when I swaped them to poly.
