So I found this kit on summitracing seems like a good kit for a nice price, my question is it says its for a 5.7 but I know the springs are the same in LS cars and ours but are they like stiffer since the LS is of course heavier?
Looks good, I wouldn't worry about the weight difference , since theres not much of a difference. Would be better if they gave the spring rate, but the price is good. Theres some on ebay that are about the same price but I think they give the spring rates.

I was thinking the same thing. Summit makes pretty good stuff so I think Im going to buy them. So my other question is 1in or 1.5in? Thats the 2 choices in drop they offer. If anyone has there car lowered 1 or 1.5 feel free to post pics.

I had mine lowered on Eibachs with 1.5"s and it was low enough esp. with ground effects. I would go with a 1.5" if no ground effects and 1" with ground effects.

Its alot stiffer, even when it was stock with decarbons and stock suspension, turns were alot nicer and handling was great, I wore them out after about 150,000 miles and 13 years later.LOL

If you have LCA's and relocation brackets they'll help. But after I went to around stock height I find it better to hook than before when it was lowered. More spin. But I also noticed when I got the UMI tunnel mount TQ arm it solved all my hooking problems , but I would scrap on everything since it hangs down. So another reason why I went back up in height besides going to be running a under K turbo up front.

Just my .02, but BMR's lowering springs are $60 more, and you can usually find them on sale. I'd rather run something that's known to work well rather than buy some no name springs from Summit.
As far as changing them, the rears are easy, under an hour with hand tools. The fronts will be tough. Trying to remove the top shock mount nut is a PITA. I'd rather spend hundreds on new mounts and shocks rather than **** around with trying to get that nut off ever again.
Yes def. do new shock top mounts and might as well do new shocks and just put them togehter as a whole and it would speed up install and messing with cutting up the old ones, depending on how many miles you have on the front suspension. Even in AZ a non-rust state the pass. side was rusted like a mofo and had to cut it. The drivers I had to cut becuase the top nut was messed up. If you can get BMR's for $60 more I would do the BMR's.

Sorry to thread jack but where'd you get the 2'' drop springs?
Wait, Is that a V6 or V8? 1990 Chevrolet C-K 1500 series 4.3L .. 5spd
1994 JDM Euno Roadster 1.8L 5spd Bolt Ons.. etc 2000 Camaro 3.8L Auto Bolt Ons..etc
Bonemaro, I'd like to see some more pics of your car cuz I have a body kit and am planning on getting new springs, just not sure what rate. I don't want to scrape. Sorry for the thread hijack. :P
