  • rear caliper bolts...

Ok I know this is silly. I cant seem to get the rear caliper bracket bolts off. They're really tight, and to make matters worse, i seem to be rounding the head of the bolt. Can someone please tell me the exact size wrench I should use because I tried metric and standard and it seems to just want to round it off. thanks.

    Heat the bolt.

Had the same problem on my previous Camaro. It may or may not come loose. The rear caliper bolt was completely frozen and after many attempts I stripped the head off of the bolt. I eventually gave up and and to saw everything off and replace it.

Do what Mogobs recommended first and heat the bolt. If that doesn't work you may have to go my route.

I had no problems with the front ones... Thanks guys, but you don't know the size of the bolt off hand?

Offhand I want to say 12mm, but you might want to double check that.

if its froze up try "pb blaster" ...its like a liquid wrench or a wd40 but better! i had my front caliper bracket bolts froze up recently so i gave it a bath in pb blaster then let it sit overnight & was able to get them out unhurt--best of luck with it!

Mine are stuck too. I'm probably going to just go to a shop to get them to deal with it.
