hi, im new here and just bought a 98 camaro v6 with 122,000 miles. the car has stock stocks and are really worn out. so what would be the best buget shocks that make it handle better than stock. also would i need to replace my springs at the same time. i dont want the car to sit to low because i have to drive it in mn winters.
i heard that bilstine was a good replacement.

would it be worth the extra 50$ for the KYB AGX over the bilstein?

Yes it would , you would have the adjustment of the shock settings.

I wouldn't call these "budget shocks" but they're fine choices.

                  Re: best buget shocks

There not budget shocks but they will last for more than 2 years without any problems , I would say life span depending on driver would be 3-5 years. The cheap ones maybe 2 years, so your getting more than double the years for probably double the money but the ride is better and it handles alot better than cheap shocks , so do it right the first time and get good shocks. Most good shocks can be revalved after they go out for not too much money, so you save in the long run, just rebuilding your shocks you bought the first time.

                      Re: best buget shocks

Depending on mileage and when you live new shocks mounts for the front and replace the torx bolt bolts up front with a reg. bolt head , the rear maybe new shock mounts for them maybe springs depending on how old they are. Mine leveled out when I used new universal mounts with my QA-1 shocks.
